DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS

To complement and focus development we often introduce diagnostic or psychometric tools

Employee Engagement

Together with our colleague Dr Steve Smith, we have developed an online diagnostic tool, the Twyfords Employee Engagement Review (TEER), designed to measure the six factors that research suggests are most strongly linked to employee engagement: Balance; Empowerment; Recognition; Trust; Collaboration; Alignment. The tool is completed online, and data is analysed confidentially and presented as a full colour report. The model is based on initial research conducted by Steve as part of his PhD research at the Faculty of Health, University of Sydney.

Personality Preferences and Individual Difference

One of the most widely used tools internationally is the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). This well validated psychomentric tool brings helps individuals understand their own individual preferences when it comes to how they are re-energised, how they interact with others, what data they pay most attention to, how they make their decsions and how they organise their lifestyle. The MBTI is also a great tool for understanding how others are different, and the kinds of synergies and tensions this can bring in team and group situations.

Leadership Style and Impact

We recommend two different muti-rater feedback tools to assist in focussing leader development:

The Multi Factor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ360), developed by Melbourne based MLQ Pty Ltd, and based on the research of Bass and Avolio. The MLQ360 is an online questionnaire that enavbles leaders to capture feedback from over 20 individuals up the line, down the line, peers and others such as clients. The data is collected and analysed confidentially and the results presented in a full colour report.

The Life Styles Inventory (LSI), developed by Human Synergistics International. The LSI is an online questionnaire that enables leaders to capture feedback from 5 individuals. It may be structrued as a 360 feedback process depending on the selection of respondents. The data is colected and analysed confidentially and the results can be presented in a full colour report.

Team and Group Styles

The MLQTeam, developed by Melbourne based MLQ Pty Ltd, and based on the research of Bass and Avolio. The MLQTeam is an online questionnaire that enables team members to understand their own dynamic and to focus their development. The data is collected and analysed confidentially and the results presented in a full colour report.

The Group Styles Inventory (GSI), developed by Human Synergistics International. The GSI is a diagnostic that enables team members to understand the way that they they go about their "business", and is used as a tool for reflective analysis.

Organisational Culture

The Organisational Development Questionnaire (ODQ), developed by Melbourne based MLQ Pty Ltd, and based on the research of Bass and Avolio. The ODQ is an online questionnaire that enables members of an organisation to understand their own cultural style as reinforced they the organisations leadership. The data is collected and analysed confidentially and the results presented in a full colour report.

The Organisational Culture Inventory (OCI) and Organisational Effectiveness Inventory (OEI), developed by Human Synergistics International. These tools provide insight into the premoninant cultural styles of the organisation and the levers for change.
